Presenter Bios:

Dr. Laura Blaisdell Camp Winnebago/Maine Medical Center/Serious Fun Network

Dr. Blaisdell, MD/MPH, FAAP is a pediatrician, researcher and advocate.  For 20 years, she has worked in camp medicine, serving as Medical Director at Camp Winnebago and advising camps on myriad of topics.  She currently is the Senior Medical Advisor for SeriousFun Children’s Network and works clinically at Maine Medical Center (MMC) Pediatric Clinic.  Dr. Blaisdell is the President of Maine American Academy of Pediatrics and founding member of Maine Families for Vaccines and SAFE Communities Coalition. In these roles, she is a tireless advocate for vaccines and gun safety among other issue facing youth. Additionally, she has served as Clinical Site Director for the National Children’s Study, as Chair of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at MMC, as Chief of Pediatrics at InterMed, and currently is a Trustee for Mercy Hospital in Portland. She is an Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine.

Dr. Blaisdell resides in South Portland, ME during the winter with her two sons and husband, Andy Lilienthal and summers at Camp Winnebago in Fayette, Maine.

Dr. Tracey Gaslin, Alliance for Camp Health

Dr. Gaslin completed her PhD in Educational and Organizational Leadership and taught for 10 years specializing in pediatric development, service leadership, and research on gratitude. Dr. Gaslin publishes the majority of her work in the areas of pediatrics, camp nursing, behavioral health, and service leadership and has co-authored several texts.

She currently serves as the Executive Director for the Alliance for Camp Health where she travels and trains individuals regarding health services and wellbeing of youth and young adults. She continues to be an active speaker, writer, and publisher representing the Leading Voice in Camp Health to promote hope and healing in youth serving programs across the US and Canada.
