Southern California Camp Tours

We hope you can join us for a fantastic day of camp tours and the opportunity to connect with camp professionals in Southern California! On these tours, we will visit Girl Scout Camp Lakota in Frazier Park and Camp Painted Turtle in Lake Huges. Each tour highlights different programs and facility areas unique to each camp!

This is an open invitation to all ACA members and non-members; we encourage you to invite your emerging professional staff, program staff, and facility folks. This is a free event, but please RSVP by March 25.

Participants should bring a nut-free brown bag lunch.

SCHEDULE

• 9:45: Meet at Girl Scout Camp Lakota (11220 Dorothy Ln, Frazier Park, CA 93225)

• 10 - Noon: Tour Camp Lakota
  • Tour Highlights: Explore architecture award-winning eco-conscious A-frame cabins, equestrian program, zip line, archery, 10,000 square foot dining hall
• Noon - 12:45: Lunch at Camp Lakota, don’t forget a lunch!
• 12:45 - 1:45: Drive to Camp Painted Turtle (17000 Elizabeth Lake Rd, Lake Hughes, CA 93532)
• 1:45 - 3:45: Tour Camp Painted Turtle
  • Tour Highlights: Explore adaptive programming (ex: archery, ropes course), medical safety at camp, accessible site, fishing at the "kiss and release" pond, learn about volunteer programming. Note: attendees will sign a Painted Turtle waiver on site.
• 4: Optional Social at the Rock Inn, Lake Hughes
