We all live on this amazing planet, and it needs our help! Come learn how you can enable camp participants to go outside and explore their atmosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere, and biosphere. In this webinar, you will learn a little about Earth’s interconnected spheres, and explore the ways that NASA is helping us better understand our planet. We will cover hands on activities, demonstrations, and a variety of STEM activities you can do with your campers.

Through this webinar participants will: 

  • Will be able to discuss with their audiences the differences, and relationships, between Earth’s interconnected spheres 

  • Will understand and be able to share with their audiences the ways NASA studies the Earth 

  • Will be familiar with hands-on activities, demonstrations and other resources available to use with their audiences 

Dorian Janney taught for 33 years across all grade levels, and is now a NASA Education Specialist for the Global Precipitation Measurement mission. She holds a BS in Special and General Education, and Masters’ degree in both Special Education and Earth/Space Science. She achieved her NBPTL certification in Science, and was a finalist for the Einstein Fellows.” 

Kristen Weaver taught middle school science for eight years in both Montgomery County Public Schools (Maryland) and Denver Public Schools (Colorado), with a primary focus in Earth Science. In 2012 she became involved as a Master Teacher with the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Mission, before coming on full time as an Education Specialist for GPM in September 2013. Ms. Weaver holds an M.A. in Education: Curriculum and Instruction (with a focus on Urban Education) and a B.S. in Computer Science and Psychology, both from the University of Denver.
