1.00This presentation will offer a greater understanding of the significance in both the creation and core mission of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). It will familiarize the audience with various key resources NCMEC offers to parents/guardians and law enforcement to help recover missing children, including sexually exploited children. The audience will be exposed to the wide array of resources NCMEC utilizes, including case management resources, child sex trafficking resources, and family support services from the time a child is reported missing through recovery.

Presenters
Nathan Compton has been with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children since 2024 and is currently a case manager I in the critical at-risk unit within the missing children division. In his role, Nathan manages missing child cases throughout the country and is responsible for assessing each case for different endangerments, such as child sex trafficking. Nathan provides technical assistance and support to families, social service organizations, and law enforcement agencies. He is responsible for coordinating with the child’s guardian and law enforcement to work through each unique case to ensure all possible NCMEC resources are being utilized to assist with locating the child.
Prior to joining NCMEC as an intern in 2024, Nathan received bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice and a minor in Political Science from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs. He then went on to pursue a master's degree in Forensic and Legal Psychology at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.
Aya Nassif is an outreach specialist at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), where she manages and trains more than 100 partner organizations nationwide. She provides technical assistance to programmatic partners and guidance on delivering NCMEC’s NetSmartz presentations, which are used across the United States to educate communities and help prevent the victimization of children.
Aya also delivers nearly 100 presentations each year on internet safety and emerging issues relevant to NCMEC’s CyberTipline and 24-hour call center. Through her work, she helps equip professionals, organizations, and communities with the knowledge and resources needed to better protect children.
Prior to joining NCMEC, Aya worked as a child and family case manager at a domestic violence agency, where she supported families in the aftermath of abuse and helped them navigate resources and begin the healing process.
