Matching will be made somewhat randomly with some weight from individual mentee and mentor application responses regarding background and interest. 

Group size will vary based on mentee application interest, but we anticipate no more than 6 mentees per group. As this is the pilot year of the program, we will be monitoring the mentee application form for capacity, and not all mentees who apply may be selected this year. 

The mentee application is open until November 10. Mentees will be notified of their small group mentor by late November and virtual meetings will start in December. Each small group will set its own virtual meeting times, and meetings will happen December 2023 through November 2024, with a break for summer (June and July, or as determined by the group). 

ACA ran a smaller pilot version of this program in the Eastern Region in 2022 – 2023.  This is the first year ACA is offering it as a national program. 

Mentors for this pilot season were nominated by national ACA staff and Local Councils of Leaders.  

This is a free program for ACA members, and membership is required. If you are not an ACA member, you may be eligible for your first year for free!  

This is not an opportunity to gain feedback on accreditation and is not related to the accreditation program. It is likely that the majority of mentors will be connected to an accredited camp, but not necessarily. 

This program is designed to be entirely virtual and will pair small groups of 6-8 mentees to 1 mentor. This program is not set up for two people to meet in person or in isolated spaces.
