Camp Research in the Age of COVID-19

Research is a big thing right now.  Of course it is — people seek certainty when things are uncertain, as they certainly are amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Research brings certainty, right?

Camps May Be Eligible for Expanded Main Street Loan Program

Effective July 17, 2020, the Federal Reserve has expanded its Main Street Lending Program to include nonprofits with at least 10 employees, opening another potential avenue for camps that meet this and other requirements to receive financial assistance during the coronavirus pandemic. The original proposal required a minimum of 50 employees. As a direct result of ACA’s advocacy on the issue, this threshold was lowered to 10, making this potential relief vehicle accessible to many more camps in the country.

Managing Camp in Regions with High Community Infections

This is an opportunity for camp professionals to connect with experts at Environmental Health & Engineering regarding considerations for operating camp in areas experiencing high, community infection rates. Safety protocols will be reviewed and camp professionals should bring their questions.

This webinar is only open to camp professionals. At the time of registration you must include your organization and job title for your registration to be approved.

Camp Operations Guide Summer 2020

The American Camp Association (ACA) and the YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) are engaged together to provide educational resources to both day and overnight camps, state and local health departments, and parents/guardians and campers. The educational resources are being developed by an independent expert panel being coordinated by Environmental Health & Engineering, Inc.

The Outdoor Alliance for Kids (OAK) is co-hosting, along with steering committee member NRPA and Kaboom, a webinar with the CDC on guidance for reopening public playspaces.
