From Forecast to Action: Weather Readiness for Camps

Operational readiness rests on two core requirements: assigning a dedicated daily weather situational awareness lead and deploying redundant warning channels (NOAA Weather Radio, apps, and county reverse notifications) to ensure alerts are never missed. Finally, camp leadership will learn how enrolling in the Weather-Ready Nation (WRN) Ambassador program connects them to the upcoming Camps and Outdoor Recreation Special Interest Group—a new national peer network that will house upcoming emergency operations plan (EOP) templates and safety toolkits currently under development by the NWS.
