Immunizations have historically been an important consideration in building a healthy camp structure. The requirements and recommendations for immunizations are currently being considered, and this recorded webinar will discuss immunization best practices and practical strategies for camp programs. Participants will explore how state regulations, camp policies, and public health guidance interact, and how to communicate immunization expectations clearly and confidently with families and staff.
Tracey Gaslin PhD, CPNP, FNP-BC, CRNI, RN-BC
Dr. Gaslin completed her PhD in Educational and Organizational Leadership and taught for 10 years specializing in pediatric development, service leadership, and research on gratitude. Dr. Gaslin publishes the majority of her work in the areas of pediatrics, camp nursing, behavioral health, and service leadership and has co-authored several texts.
She currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the Alliance for Camp Health where she travels and trains individuals regarding health services and well-being of youth and young adults. She continues to be an active speaker, writer, and publisher representing the Leading Voice in Camp Health to promote hope and healing in youth serving programs across the US and Canada.
Dr. Laura Blaisdell
Dr. Blaisdell is a board-certified pediatrician, child health researcher and advocate. She received a B.A. from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, a medical doctorate and public health degree (MD/MPH) at the University of Minnesota, and completed a pediatrics residency at Maine Medical Center (MMC). Dr. Blaisdell practices general pediatrics at the Pediatric Clinic at MMC and teaches evidence-based medicine to medical students and residents. She is an Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine.
We will describe current immunization best practices and how public health guidance, state regulations, and camp policies intersect in camp settings. Learn to evaluate your camp’s existing immunization approach to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for strengthening health practices. Apply practical communication strategies to clearly and confidently share immunization expectations with families and staff.
